چکیده

We present a formalization of the factor theorem for univariate polynomials, also called the (little) Bezout theorem: Let r belong to a commutative ring L and p(x) be a polynomial over L. Then x− r divides p(x) iff p(r) = 0. We also prove some consequences of this theorem like that any non zero polynomial of degree n over an algebraically closed integral domain has n (non necessarily distinct) roots.

Frobenius kernel and Wedderburn's little theorem

We give a new proof of the well known Wedderburn's little theorem (1905) that a finite‎ ‎division ring is commutative‎. ‎We apply the concept of Frobenius kernel in Frobenius representation theorem in finite group‎ ‎theory to build a proof‎.

Generalized Bezout's theorem and its applications in coding theory

This paper presents a generalized Bezout theorem which can be used to determine a tighter lower bound of the number of distinct points of intersection of two or more plane curves. A new approach to determine a lower bound on the minimum distance for algebraic-geometric codes defined from a class of plane curves is introduced, based on the generalized Bezout theorem. Examples of more efficient l...

99 9 Bezout ’ S Theorem and Cohen - Macaulay Modules

We define very proper intersections of modules and projective subschemes. It turns out that equidimensional locally Cohen-Macaulay modules intersect very properly if and only if they intersect properly. We prove a Bezout theorem for modules which meet very properly. Furthermore, we show for equidimensional subschemes X and Y : If they intersect properly in an arithmetically Cohen-Macaulay subsc...

An Arithmetic Analogue of Bezout’s Theorem

In this paper, we prove two versions of an arithmetic analogue of Bezout’s theorem, subject to some technical restrictions. The basic formula proven is deg(V )h(X∩Y ) = h(X) deg(Y )+h(Y ) deg(X)+O(1), where X and Y are algebraic cycles varying in properly intersecting families on a regular subvariety VS ⊂ PS . The theorem is inspired by the arithmetic Bezout inequality of Bost, Gillet, and Soul...
